A Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje, abreviadamente chamada NTLH, é uma tradução da Bíblia em linguagem moderna e entendível em Língua Portuguesa.
Essa tradução da Bíblia adota uma estrutura gramatical e linguagem mais próximas da utilizada por pessoas mais simples no Brasil.Pela linguagem mais simples e coloquial, a NTLH é voltada às pessoas que ainda não tiveram ou que tiveram pouco contato com a leitura bíblica clássica.
De modo que se tornou uma ferramenta de evangelização por possuir um texto mais claro e facilmente compreensível, por não primar pela linguagem clássica que geralmente norteia essas traduções.
A nova versão, contudo, não utiliza gírias ou regionalismos, fator que, não permitiu que se perdesse o estilo bíblico.Os princípios seguidos nesta revisão foram os mesmos que nortearam o trabalho da tradução na Linguagem de Hoje.
A tradução de João Ferreira de Almeida e também outras boas traduções existentes em português seguiram os princípios da tradução de equivalência formal.
Já a NTLH, norteou-se pelos princípios de tradução de equivalência funcional ou dinâmica.De todo modo, é uma tradução bastante útil por aproximar o texto bíblico da linguagem geralmente falada pelas pessoas no dia a dia.The Translation in Todays English Version, briefly called NLT, is a Bible translation in modern and understandable language in Portuguese.This translation of the Bible takes a grammatical structure and closer to the language used by simple people in Brazil.For simpler language, colloquial, the NIV is geared to people who have not had or had little contact with the classic biblical reading.
So that became an evangelization tool for having a clearer and more easily understandable text, not strive for classical language which generally guides these translations.
The new version, however, does not use slang or regionalism, a factor that did not allow to be lost the biblical style.The principles followed in this review were the same that guided the work of translation Todays English Version.
The translation of King James and also other good existing translations in Portuguese followed the principles of formal equivalence translation.
